Surf camp in July means: early bird surfs, a music festival in El Cotillo, volcano hikes, BBQs at the Surfhouse and so much more. You think all that doesn’t go together? Then read on.
1. New to the team: Lena & Jessi are here!
Since July, we – Lena and Jessi – have been supporting the FreshSurf team as interns. Whether at the Surfhouse, in the office or at our evening get-togethers: we jumped right in with good vibes and sunburn (classic!).
By now we know the best tapas spots, have got to know El Cotillo and are settling more and more into everyday surf camp life. Thanks to the warm, friendly atmosphere, we’ve felt at home here from day one – ready for an unforgettable time!
2. Festival, BBQ & lots of summer feeling
Our very first weekend: El Cotillo went wild! At the FEM Festival we danced barefoot in the sand, covered ourselves in glitter and partied with the crew to live Spanish music – two days full of joie de vivre and summer vibes.
Things never got boring at the Surfhouse either: BBQ nights with long conversations, tapas tours through the village, sunset pizza on the beach (or in the van) or a hike up Calderón Hondo – July had a new adventure in store every day.
3. Road trips & early bird vibes
On our days off, we took a rental car right across the north – in search of secluded bays, wild parties (like the Fiesta Virgen del Carmen) and an authentic island feeling. At Puertito de Los Molinos we were surprised with dancing, music, ice-cold drinks and a giant paella – Spain at its liveliest!
And yes, we do work here – but when the waves are calling, we’ll happily get up at 6 a.m. Our “girls only” session at sunrise in Punta Blanca will stay with us forever: three girls in the line-up, perfect conditions and smiles that lasted all through the office day.

4. Photos from the surf lessons of the past few weeks
Best of July – thanks for an unforgettable month!
July was wild, sunny, warm-hearted and full of special moments – thanks to our surf crew for being there, laughing, helping out, celebrating and sharing it all with us!
We’re already looking forward to everything August has in store for us – with new faces, new waves and lots of time together by the sea.
