Surfing taster course
This surf course for beginners will give you a first insight into surfing. You’ll spend 3-4 hours with us on the island’s most beautiful beaches and gain your first experience in the Atlantic waves. We are always by your side!
Surf course for beginners
The beginner surf course includes 2-5 days in which you learn everything you need to know to be able to continue practicing on your own later. You will practise under the guidance of our surf coaches so that you will soon be able to surf a wave standing up. You will definitely have fun and be successful!
Surf course for intermediates
If you already have experience in surfing and want to improve your skills, you are in good hands with us as an intermediate surfer. In the advanced course, we build on your experience and put the finishing touches to your surfing.
Surf courses for children
Our surf instructors have a particularly big heart for our younger guests. We are always happy to welcome our “little ones” and teach them to surf in a playful way. Your kids will definitely be talking about this for a long time!
Family surf course
Our family surf course is aimed at all families who would like to learn or improve their surfing skills together on vacation. You are the focus of the surf course. One of our surf instructors will take care of you!

Surfing small groups
We train in small groups. This means you learn to surf faster and get more feedback.

We will take you to the most suitable surf spot, depending on the weather, wave and wind conditions.
Theory and practice
The surf courses are logically structured and you will receive the best possible preparation for independent surfing. We have prepared great knowledge for you in our theory lounge.
Insurance
During the surf courses you are insured through our partners. In the event of personal injury or property damage to third parties caused by you, the insurance will apply.
Material
All material is included. Everything you need for surfing: Surfboard, wetsuit, lycra, leash, wax, etc. Please bring a towel, dry clothes and something to drink.

How does the surf course work?
Surf course Fuerteventura: What is the surf course schedule?
1st surf course start at the surf school
Whether it’s a taster course, beginner or intermediate surf course, the meeting point and start of the surf course is always at our partner surf school in El Cotillo. Here we start with a theory unit on the topic of safety or with a theory appropriate to the level. After the theory, we load the buses with wetsuits, boards, lycra and leashes. We then drive to the most suitable surf spot for you on that day.
2. spot introduction and warm-up at the surf spot
The practical part of the surf course begins at the surf spot with a warm-up and a few exercises on board technique. Then it’s off into the water.Here you will be taught surfing in small steps or built up to your respective surfing level.
3. get into the water with the right exercises
Surf course on the beach
For beginners, it starts with board handling (carrying, waves cross, turn, lay on), the correct position on the board, paddling and planing a wave in white water. This is followed by further exercises, then the take-off, the stand-up movement.
For intermediates with previous experience, you will go through the take-off together with the coaches and consolidate it with individual feedback, exercises and tips from the surf instructors. Step by step, you will learn how to surf waves “frontside” and “backside” (making small turning movements with the surfboard ), how to brake and “accelerate”, etc. The coaches paddle with you into the line-up, explain wave crossing techniques, how to sit on the surfboard and how to turn it.
Surf course on the reef
Once you feel confident on the beach, it’s time to head to the reef. It is particularly suitable for beginners to improve their techniques and knowledge. You will work on your paddling stamina and consolidate your take-off in green waves. You will then start to learn how to build up speed and make turns (bottom turn, cut back, top turn, etc.).

Once you are back at the surf school, there will be another short theory session on various topics. For example, board techniques, tides, wave formation, currents, surf equipment, maneuvers, right of way rules, behaviour in the water, etc. – the units build on each other in a meaningful way so that you can acquire exactly the knowledge you need to surf on your own. You can surf here on Fuerteventura all year round. The temperatures are almost always warm to very warm in summer. Mild water temperatures invite you to jump into the ocean. You’ll always find a wave to surf and there are surf lessons every day. Our partner surf coaches will findthe right wave for you every day thanks to their knowledge of the island.
Does the surf course take place in the morning or in the afternoon?
The surf course Fuerteventura always takes place at the most suitable time of day. Beginner surf courses take place around the low tide, i.e. 3 hours before to 3 hours after. The surf courses for intermediates and advanced surfers take place 3 hours before or after the high tide. Depending on the surf spot, wind and weather conditions, the times are set a week in advance, but can also be adjusted spontaneously if necessary.
When is the best time to take a surf course for beginners?
There are solid conditions for beginners on Fuerteventura all year round. Whether during the trade winds in summer, Kalima, the hot desert wind or big winter waves, the surf coaches can take you into the water every day. Especially in the north of Fuerteventura, there are numerous surf spots, beaches and therefore plenty of waves to choose from.
When is the best time to take an advanced surf course?
Do you want to surf waves that are as clean and defined as possible? The best time to surf on Fuerteventura is from September to the end of April. The windless months are in fall and winter.

You can start your surf course every day from Monday to Sunday. Our cooperation partners start each day for the “newbies” with a 30-minute theory unit on the subject of safety.
Welches ist der beste Ort für einen Surfkurs auf Fuerteventura?
For beginners, El Cotillo is the best place to learn to surf all year round. However, sometimes you can also go to the beaches around Corralejo if it is too big in Cotillo.
For intermediates and advanced surfers, the North Shore of Fuerteventura is the place to be.
Findet der Surfkurs an einem Beachbreak oder an einem Reefbreak statt?
It all depends on the surfing level. Due to the Security the beginner courses take place exclusively on beach breaks. Intermediate and advanced courses take place on beach or reef breaks, depending on the conditions.
In welcher Sprache wird bei euch im Surfkurs unterrichtet?
The surf course is mostly held in English – if you want to work on your Spanish, you can of course also ask the coaches for Spanish instructions ;) All other coaches speak English and Spanish. Some also speak French and Italian.
Ab welchem Alter dürfen Kinder bei euch am Surfkurs teilnehmen?
We teach children from the age of 8. To ensure that children can be taught safely, the surf courses need to be prepared much more carefully and more staff are required, which is why we do not offer a discount for children.
Kann man das Surfmaterial auch außerhalb der Surfkurszeiten nutzen?
On the day of your surf course, you can hire the equipment from us (if available) and go surfing again on your own.
