Tapas and other Spanish specialities

Marea Alta is one of our favorite restaurants in El Cotillo. It feels like you’re always sitting outside here, even when you’re inside. There are a few seats in the Plaza de los Mosaicos, but the “interior” is also designed so that you can watch life outside. The mix of stone walls, wooden furniture and plants makes you feel like you’re sitting on a patio with friends. There is often live music at Marea Alta on Thursdays. This is particularly good to enjoy with a glass of sangria.

The cuisine is a mixture of typical Spanish tapas and fish specialties with a hint of South American flavor, and the tapas are particularly recommended if you are traveling with several people. This way you can order a selection and try your way through the variety of small delicacies, such as Venezuelan arepas, Spanish tortillas and fresh salad with orange fillets. Apart from the tapas, there are daily changing fish and meat specials. The super juicy spare ribs and deep-fried calamari are particularly highly praised.
