Time flies on Fuerteventura and another week is already over. Learning to surf in May is definitely worth it! This week we had lots of surf newbies with us, celebrated plenty of successes and really enjoyed our time in the water.
In the sunshine, surfing and then enjoying the sunset in the evening – that’s the programme here. You can read here how much fun the surf newcomers and intermediates had.

Lots of joy among the surf newbies
Germans really make the most of May, and we notice that here on Fuerteventura too. On Monday it was full house at the theory lesson. So learning to surf in May seems to be pretty popular.
A big group also means big fun – you can motivate each other and always pick up a little something from the others. So learning to surf in May is not just surfing, it’s also a lot of watching. And watching the others a bit is simply fun too 😉
So the beginners are rocking Piedra Playa and their first whitewater waves. Conditions this week are pretty relaxed, just as it should be on holiday. Relatively little wind, small waves and lots of sunshine! Learning to surf in May has never been more fun. And the best part is when the beginners drop onto our couch proud, tired and happy after the surf lesson.
A road trip to Punta Blanca
Small but mighty, and incredibly funny, that’s our intermediate course! Lucia and Micha have caught the surf fever and are more than motivated to learn to surf in May. None of the beginners has moved up yet, so the two of them got to enjoy a few private lessons.
With lots of hip-hop music, open windows and the best mood, the crew arrived in front of the FreshSurf office. After listening to the theory session the two still weren’t worn out, so on Thursday they went surfskating.
Surf manoeuvres are improved, the stance was fine-tuned and the weight shift is getting better. The waves took a break, and Lucia and Micha joined in right away. After two rest days things got going again at the end of the week – with full success. Next week will surely be just as much fun!
