“This island is where I was born and where I roam…
I know every corner, every face and every ground squirrel by name. Every now and then I need a change of scenery, so I wait for my Steff and his car. The sun is shining and the world behind me slowly gets smaller – but the world ahead is waiting for me, andI’m ready for it. The day is on my side, I’ve got the wind at my back and Toby singing for me in the lounge. I lean back, gaze into the deep blue, close my eyes and just keep running straight ahead …”
I’m looking forward to a great time with you on my island!
Oh yes, and I’m looking forward to kind words and the odd cuddle.

SHELTER – a dog and his story
I’d been living on the streets of Fuerte for quite a while when one day I met Steff. Armed with a Vienna sausage, he won my heart in no time, and from then on I decided to guard Steff’s backpack every day while he braved the water. After many months on the beach, we headed off into the German winter. At first I was shocked to find I was dressed all wrong, but then I really liked it. Postmen, cosy wood stoves and visiting friends – it was all lovely.
But now it’s time to head home again. As the “FreshDog” I keep an eye on the camp and sometimes go to the beach with our guests.
That’s Shelter barking.
