There are various techniques for this: 2- or 3-step variations, jumping onto the board or even taking off over the knee.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>step-by-step take-offs<\/strong>, first place your arms next to your ribs on the board (do not grab the rail!). Then move your back foot to roughly where your knee was before. When you bring your front foot under your shoulders, push yourself up with your hands at the same time so that your upper body rises.  <\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text disabled_on=&#8221;on|on|on&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; disabled=&#8221;on&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>This gradual take-off can be accelerated, for example, by bringing your back foot forward as you push yourself upwards.<\/p>\n<p>With a <strong>pop-up jump<\/strong>, you push yourself up and jump straight into the surfing position with your feet. This is particularly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freshsurf.de\/en\/about-surfing\/\" title=\"Surfing: everything you need to know about surfing and the best places to surf\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1965\">helpful for surfing novices<\/a> who find it difficult to stand up at first, as the step over the knee provides a little more stability.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, this take-off is difficult to execute in faster, larger waves. Therefore, you will have to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BK9t0bv9I_Y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unlearn<\/a> this take-off later on. As this is a very laborious process, we would always recommend practising the other take-off variations first and only resorting to the knee variation in an \u2018emergency\u2019.  <\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; Whether in a surf class, on the beach before you go into the water or at home, <strong>practising and mastering your take-off on dry land<\/strong> is essential for getting onto a wobbly <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.freshsurf.de\/en\/surf-board\/\" title=\"Surfboard\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1949\">surfboard<\/a> in the water. <\/p>\n<p>There are now many videos on the internet that show the take-off step by step. This allows you to refresh your knowledge from the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.freshsurf.de\/en\/surf-lesson\/\" title=\"Surf course\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"2308\">surf class<\/a>, practise the movements at home and improve your take-off. <\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"bewegungsablauf\"><strong>Practise your movements and improve your take-off<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1943\" data-end=\"2132\">The perfect take-off is not a question of talent, but of training.<br data-start=\"2016\" data-end=\"2019\">The keyword is <strong data-start=\"2041\" data-end=\"2058\">muscle memory<\/strong>. The more often you practise the sequence of movements, the more automatic it becomes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2329\">You <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freshsurf.de\/en\/surfing-on-standing-waves-surf-training-for-landlocked-surfers\/\">don&#8217;t need waves or the sea<\/a> &#8211; just you, your board (or a mat) and a bit of motivation.<br data-start=\"2243\" data-end=\"2246\">Start in slow motion. Only when the movement is perfectly executed should speed be added.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text disabled_on=&#8221;on|on|on&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; disabled=&#8221;on&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>It is important to practise the movements slowly (almost in slow motion) until you have mastered them. This is the only way to ensure that you are not practising anything incorrectly. <strong>The more often you practise the take-off, the more confident you will become in the movement.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>In the end, you hardly have to think about the take-off in the water, and your arms and legs do the take-off almost automatically.<\/p>\n<p>So why not just do 10 take-offs every day right after getting up?
