You could already guess that the sea and I would one day build a very special relationship when, aged four, I stood on the coast in tears at the end of a family holiday in Italy and simply couldn\u2019t understand why I had to leave again. My mum literally had to carry me away to separate me from the sea.<\/p>\n
Since then it has called me back again and again, lulled me and enchanted me, and I\u2019ve followed its call: on family holidays, a school exchange to Australia, a semester abroad in Chile, countless trips and six months travelling through Central and South America. I never missed a chance to be close to its rolling waves. And I still can\u2019t get enough of it \u2013 in fact, the more and the more often I spend time with it, the more it fascinates me (and yes, I\u2019m still talking about the sea, not my lover).<\/p>\n
I only got into surfing last summer, though, when I went to the French Atlantic coast<\/a> with a few friends, some of them surf-crazy, and fell head over heels in love (again, with surfing ;). Since then I\u2019ve been surfing in Morocco once more, which only confirmed that I\u2019d definitely need more time for the board and me than a mere 10 days.<\/p>\n
