Wait &#8211; the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.freshsurf.de\/en\/surf-board\/\" title=\"Surfboard\" link=\"linked\">surfboard<\/a> has to come along too! Now the question arises: What is the best way to transport my <strong><a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.freshsurf.de\/en\/surf-board\/\" title=\"Surfboard typen\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"4730\">surfboard<\/a><\/strong>? We&#8217;ve already tried a few things and observed the strangest attempts by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freshsurf.de\/en\/about-surfing\/\">surfers<\/a> &#8211; so here are a <strong>few tips<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">On the roof<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We use<strong> Roofracks to<\/strong> <strong>transport surfboards <\/strong>on the roof &#8211; the first time you hold them in your hand they are just a few cords with pads, but as soon as you know how to use them you won&#8217;t want to do without them. Here is a short <strong>guide<\/strong> to <strong>using the roof racks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">1.<\/span> Open all the car doors and position the upholstery on the roof.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">2.<\/span> Pass the<strong> tensioning straps<\/strong> to which the upholstery is attached under the roof and pull them tight.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">3.<\/span> Place your <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.freshsurf.de\/en\/surf-retreat\/surfbrett\/\" title=\"Surfbrett: Typen, Shapes, Modelle und Unterschiede\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"4731\">surfboard<\/a> on the <strong>pads <\/strong>on the roof. The nose of your board should be pointing forwards and the <strong><a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.freshsurf.de\/en\/surfboard-fin-guide-your-guide-to-fin-set-ups\/\" title=\"Finns\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">fins<\/a><\/strong> facing upwards. If you are transporting<strong> several boards<\/strong>, arrange them according to size &#8211; the largest surfboard is at the bottom. As soon as you know where your next <strong>surf trip<\/strong> is going, find out which<strong> transportation options<\/strong> are permitted locally. If you are allowed to transport your surfboard in the car, you can secure it in the car:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">1.<\/span> You also need<strong> tensioning straps<\/strong> for <strong>transportation i<\/strong>n the car. Place <span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">these on the roof<\/span> of the car, just like when transporting <strong>on the roof<\/strong> <span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">and then pass them through the open car doors underneath. If you are traveling in a van, you need to check where you can attach the tensioning straps to the inside of the bus. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">2.<\/span> tighten the<strong> tensioning straps,<\/strong> but leave a little space so that you can still slide your surfboard under them.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">3.<\/span> slide your <strong>surfboard<\/strong> under the <strong>tensioning strap<\/strong>s from behind, with the<strong> nose<\/strong> pointing forwards and the <strong>fins<\/strong> facing downwards.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">4.<\/span> Once your surfboard is perfectly positioned, you can tighten the straps. Make sure that the<strong> nose<\/strong> of the board is not too close to the front windshield and the <strong>tail <\/strong>is not too close to the rear windshield. If you do have to brake hard, it&#8217;s not nice if your board cracks one of the windows.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">5<\/span>. Before you set off, <strong>check<\/strong> once again that all the straps are tight.
