Es ist der Volcom Pipeline Pro, ein WQS 5-star Event, welches in der Zeit vom 23.01. bis zum 5.02.2010 ausgetragen wird.
Volcom ist mit der North Shore auf Hawaii seid den frühen 90ern tief verwurzelt. Laut den Volcom-Jungs startete alles mit dem ersten Team-Haus in Turtle Bay, daraufhin folgte Rocky Point, dann V-Land, und Sunset . Schließlich wurde dann auch noch eine Location direkt vor der Banzai Pipeline – direkt am Strand – errichtet.
“To have our own contest in front of the Volcom Pipe Houses is truly amazing,” sagt Volcom Founder und CEO, Richard Woolcott. “I think it’s going to be a great event for everyone; the surfers, the spectators and the community. This is something I never would have imagined when starting Volcom… It really is a dream come true.”
Der Volcom Pipeline Pro ist mit einem Preisgeld von US $120,000 ausgestattet und bietet eine großartige Gelegenheit, besonders für die Locals, WQS und Triple Crown Punkte zu sammeln.
