Billabong Pipeline Masters is now playing live on both FuelTV and on the web – the conditions are pretty good and so far, apparently it’s been a great contest. Event dates: December 8-20, 2009, will run on the four best days of surf during the period. Event rating: Men’s elite World Championship Tour event. Will decide the 2009 men’s world title. Prize purse: $340,000. The Wave: The deadliest surf spot on Earth. The most photographed wave in the world. Competition began here in 1971, making the Billabong Pipeline Masters the longest running professional surfing event on the planet
